The state government is using the police force to arrest innocent Hindu youths and charging them unduly. Muslim fundamentalists are forcibly entering the houses of Hindus and instilling fear in them. Such boldness is perhaps backed by terror elements, he said.

He further added that due to the appeasement policy of the Congress, Hindus had no security and there was allegedly a conspiracy to suppress the voice of Hindus by registering unnecessary cases against the innocent Hindus. Kateel also said the state government was openly supporting the fundamentalist forces and turning a blind eye towards persecution of Hindus.

Town returns to normalcy

The Mangaluru city police commissioner has said that action wil be taken against certain groups which are trying to disturb peace in the city by attacking persons and instigating communal hatred. The police are prepared to tackle such incidents firmly and book those involved in such acts, he said.

Four cases of assault and two instances of stabbing were reported in the city since the group clash in Ulaibettu.
