The state government has introduced a series of incentives to encourage Naxals to surrender, offering rewards for handing over weapons and providing valuable information. In addition, those opting for skill training will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5000 for two years.

Incentives for Surrender

Under the new initiative, surrendered Naxals may benefit from dropped charges, legal aid, and expedited legal processes through fast-track courts. The aim is to facilitate the reintegration of former militants into mainstream society.

Rehabilitation Support

Thus far, 14 Naxals, including women, have surrendered and received rehabilitation support from the state government. This support includes assistance for skill training and monthly stipends.

Integration into Mainstream Society

A senior official emphasized that the initiative seeks to encourage Naxals to transition away from their forest existence and integrate into mainstream society. The government’s efforts aim to provide opportunities for former militants to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.
