St Aloysius College organises ‘Vikasana’ for jail inmates

Mangalore, Mar 28: The department of mass communication at St Aloysius College, here in the city had organized ‘Vikasana’ a programme for the convicts at district jail premises.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Bhuvaneshwari Heggade famous comic writer and Economics professor from Vishwavidyanilaya College, she said “We search happiness everywhere, but forget it to find within us and owing to such reason, problem increase in the society, hence comedy helps to heal our pain and anguish.”

She also inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

She adds, owing to such programmes; convicts get a chance to change their lives and can dwell as a worthy citizens in the society.

Jail superindent Ramesh P S, while speaking on the occasion said we find power of uniting everyone in Mankuthimmana Kagga. Instead of self-centered, a person should
look after the upliftment of the people. Besides, a jail is not a place for convicts instead a place of self transformation, where a person meets the truth of life.

On this occasion, a team from the city performed. Retired jail superindent Dr Rajaram Rai,Laxmi Shenoy head of department of mass communication St Aloysius College, were present.
