St Agnes college launches Child help line

Mangalore :St Agnes college today  launched a program to educate  society about the child help line 1098 at  15 venues  across the city with the help of students of the college.

Childline is organized by the Childline India Foundation. At Mangalore its collaborative organization is the YMCA.

It’s a 24 hour emergency free phone service for children in need of care and protection. Any Child or concerned adult can dial this number at any time of the day or night to access their services to prevent child abuse, provide advocacy in such cases and restore the health and liberty of  the abused children.

The inaugural program was presided over  by Dr. Prem D’souza, Principal of St Agnes College.

The programme  was inaugurated by Mr Usmaan, District Child welfare Officer.

Dr. Sr. Supriya, Vice Principal, St Agnes college, Nikesh Shetty President of Child Welfare committee, Dr. Jayanth, HOD Chemistry Dept and Dr. Noyalin Pinto Natural Science , St Agnes College were present for the  inaugural.

The program was organized by Chandramohan HOD  Political Science and Asha D Lecturer for Social work St Agnes College.
