SSF celebrates silver jubilee by organizing mass marriage

Mangalore:  “Dowry is one of the most prominent impede of the society and there are many women in the community that do not get married merely because they cannot meet the expense of the marriage or afford paying huge sum of dowry”, said Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar, general secretary, All-India Sunni Jamiyyatul Ulema during the silver jubilee anniversary celebration on Thursday January 2. 

As a part of their silver jubilee celebration the Sunni Students Federation (SSF) of Karnataka along with other like-minded organizations conducted a mass marriage for 25 couples from financially poor families. 

The mass marriage along with the other anniversary celebration was held at Nehru Maidan. The rituals were performed on the dais in the presence of the family members of the bride and groom, along with religious heads.

The silver jubilee souvenir of SSF was released on the occasion by Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chairman of Yenepoya Group. 

Haji C M Ibrahim, Kunhi Ahmed Haji, S M R Rasheed Haji, Usman Haji, R P Hussain Master, Haji M Ibrahim Bawa, Azeez Haji, B M Farook Fiza, Haji U S Hamza, Rahim Uchil and A A Hyder were present on the occasion.
