Sri Ram Sene advocates violence on illegal cattle transporters

Mangaluru: The leaders of Sri Rama Sena, Dakshina Kannada unit on Monday said that the organization will use violence on those who indulge in illegal cattle transportation.

Addressing the protesters here in the city, during a campaign rally organized for the protection of cattle and against cow slaughtering under the slogan ‘Nannanu Ulisi’ (Save Me), Mahesh Koppa said that the Hindus worship cows. Hence, the government must implement a ban on cow slaughter. We will chop hands of those who illegally transport cattle for slaughtering, he warned to the open crowd, who gathered in front of the DC’s office. He also said that the vehicle which is being used for cow transportation will be set afire.

A memorandum was submitted to the deputy commissioner. The letter states that the government must implement ban on cow slaughter and invoke the Goonda Act on those who indulge in illegal transportation of cows. Announce cow as the national animal and take stringent action against those who illtreat cows, the memorandum states.

Dr Krishnaraj Mudugere said that cow’s milk is known for having at least 18 types of vitamins. It also expressed concern over the decrease in the number of cattle.

Shailesh Holla of Kamadhenu Trust, Bengaluru also spoke. Praveen Valke, Sri Rama Sena’s state chief secretary, Anand Shetty Adyar, Sri Rama Sena’s divisional president, Savitha Ranganath, Sri Rama Sena’s women’s wing chief and several swamijis and religious heads from north and south India took part in this occasion.

Earlier, the protesters took a pledge to save cows and not to hand them over to the people for slaughtering.
