Moodbidri: Alvas sports club has won 25  medals –  4 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze, at the 26th state level south junior athletics championship organised by Andhra Pradesh State Athletics association from October 13 to 14 in Hyderabad.

Under 18 boys category, Gaviswamy and Namitha G K created a record in Hammer Throw (62.20m) and Shot put (14.02m) respectively.

Under 20 boys category, Goureesh from Alvas college won third place in 100m, Karthik won third place in long jump, Vivek Adiga won third place in Discuss throw , Siddharth won third place in Long Jump, Manjunath 110m won second place in hurdles and in 4×100 relay first place.

Under 20 girls category, Punyashree won third place in Hammer throw, Anusha Poojary won third place in Triple jump, Simona won second place in 400m hurdles, Likhitha won first prize in discuss throw  and in 4×100 metre relay third place.

Under 18 boys category, Mohammad Sadaq won third place in 100m and 200m, Sandesh won third place in triple jump, Dheeraj won second place in Long jump, Keshavan won second place in Hammer throw and Gaviswamy won first place in Hammer throw.

Under 14 girls category Aishwarya B won second place in long jump, Pavithra won second place in Polo Walt, Aishwarya P won second prize in discuss throw, Namitha G K won first place in Shot put and in 4×100 relay third place.

Under 14 boys category Abhijit Singh won third place in Triathlon. Under 14 girls category Supriya won High jump second place.

The athletes have been selected for National junior athletics tournament to be held in Ranchi from November 16th to 19.
