Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada (DK) Superintendent of Police (SP) issued suspension orders against two police personnel after finding them guilty of harassing an aspiring actor and her Muslim male friend in Subramanya Police Station limits during last month.

The suspended police personnel have been identified as Prashanth Kumar and Sandhya Kumari.

The video of the duo being harassed by cops went viral following which Dakshina Kannada SP Sudhir Kumar Reddy had then assured of disciplinary action against the police personnel, if the allegations were found to be true.

In the incident, the male companion and the aspiring actor were summoned to the police station on December 21 after which the alleged harassment took place. The girl had then alleged that they were also beaten and threatened by the Subramanya police. The girl was sent home with her parents and the boy with his uncle then.
