A young lady, identified as an inmate of an orphanage at Palakkad in Kerala, on Wednesday night, January 6, was found in an injured state near Puttur Harady railway bridge. The local residents who spotted her in an unconscious state rushed her to Puttur government hospital.
From Puttur, she was brought to Wenlock Hospital and was later shifted to Lady Goschen. Unwilling to continue her treatment here, the lady has gone missing.

Later she was found at a railway station and was then shifted to another remand home in Attane. He further said that according to eyewitnesses, the lady appeared distressed and the statements and allegations she made at various places were contrary to another.
He informed that after her escape from Lady Goschen Hospital, her photos were being circulated on whatsapp so that she could be traced. He assured that she would be taken into confidence and her statements will be recorded impartially once the police learnt her whereabouts post which she will be sent back to her native with a lady constable. If there is truth in her allegation that she was indeed raped by policemen, stringent action will be taken against them, he added.
During the course of the treatment, the lady is said to have told the doctors that she was gang raped by some Kerala police officers while she was travelling by train.
A missing case stands registered at the Bunder police station. It is now left to ascertain as to whether the lady of Haryana origin was raped in a moving train or was subjected to abuse in her orphanage.
