Mangalore: The Campus Front of India tried to gherao the DC office in Mangalore on October 24, Thursday in order to pressurize the government to transfer the investigation into the Sowjanya murder case to the CBI. When chaos prevailed during the protest, police had to intervene and detain the agitators.
Earlier, a protest rally was taken out from near Clock Tower to the DC office wherein the protestors carried the effigy of ‘apathetic’ politicians in a mock funeral procession.
The protestors then converged in front of the DC office, shouted slogans and demanded that the DC met them and heard their demand. There was confusion when the agitators tried to break the security and enter the DC office compound. They were eventually detained.
Those detained included State President of CFI,Mohammad Iqbal KA, State Committee Member Mohammad Tufail KM, State Secretary Mohammad Tafseer K and District President Sanaaulla M.
