Mangalore: A 21-year-old man killed his father by strangling his neck at Maddadka, which falls between Madanthyar and Belthangady on Friday night.

Following a drunken state, Mohammed (55) is said to have picked up a quarrel with his son Saddam. On the fateful night, Mohammed’s wife had gone to daughter’s house.

Addicted to liquor, Mohammed and Saddam always fought. On Friday night, Saddam out of fury strangled his father, reports stated.

The murder was reported only after Saddam’s mother came on Saturday.

The police said Saddam was arrested on Saturday night.
