The SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) exams kicked off in the twin districts on Monday, March 25, with the district administration making meticulous preparations to ensure a seamless process and prevent any untoward incidents.
Dakshina Kannada District:
A total of 30,348 students are taking the examinations in Dakshina Kannada district. This includes 27,663 regular school students, 1,053 private candidates, and 1,632 repeaters. The distribution of students across zones is as follows:
- Bantwal: 6,123 students
- Beltangady: 4,035 students
- Mangaluru North: 5,810 students
- Mangaluru South: 5,452 students
- Moodbidri: 1,948 students
- Puttur: 4,995 students
- Sullia: 1,985 students
There are a total of 88 examination centres distributed across the district, with varying numbers of centres in each zone.
Udupi District:
In Udupi district, a total of 14,331 students will be writing the examination. The distribution of students across zones is as follows:
- Byndoor: 2,140 students
- Kundapur: 2,778 students
- Karkala: 2,783 students
- Udupi North: 2,887 students
- Udupi South: 3,743 students
There are a total of 43 examination centres in Udupi district, with varying numbers of centres in each zone.
To ensure the integrity of the exams and student convenience, CCTV cameras have been installed in all examination centres in both districts. Additionally, signboards have been erected for student guidance, and proper seating arrangements have been made. Basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets are available at all centres, and suitable bus transportation arrangements have been made for exam candidates.
