Sleuths Raid Apartment; Seize Rs 63 Lac Indian Currency

Mangalore : At the backdrop of poll conduct is in force for the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka on Sunday May 5, the city sleuths raided an apartment in Attavar here on Monday April 29 night, and seized Indian currency of Rs 63 lac that had no valid documents, informed the sources.

 

 

 

 

 

On a sure tip-off that the money meant for distributing the voters was placed in the apartment that was owned by a fisheries trader U N Abdul Razak; the sleuths raided the apartment and seized the cash when the owner failed to produce valid documents.

The apartment is registered in the name of Razaks daughter.  If he produces valid documents related to the cash, the money would be returned to him, said the top police officer.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Harsha Gupta, ACP Jagannaat, election officers and police officers were involved in this operation.

Pandesh police registered a case in this regard.
