Six Mobilephones worth Rs 42,000 stolen; recovered

Moodbidri: Police on Monday arrested a youth from UP who had allegedly stolen 6 mobile phones from a shop here in Vidyagiri.

The arrested is identified as Sunil (21) a resident of Koyalaswan Bujurg village in Kushinagar district of UP.

On Saturday night the thief broke the locker of a mobile shop and escaped with 6 mobiles worth Rs 42,000.

Mohammad Ashraf had complained to the Moodbidri police in this regard.

Police inspector Anantha Padmanabha and SI Ramesh Kumar who were on duty near Swaraj maidan noticed a man with black bag on Monday. Police chased him and caught him, when he tried to escape after seeing the police. When police interrogated him, he spoke about the robbery.

The mobile phones have been recovered from him.

Sunil was working as electrician at Moodbidri construction sites.
