Mangaluru: Vittal police arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of forging a government doctor’s signature and stamp on a fitness certificate to renew driver’s licence.

The father of the arrested Sheik Firoz Adam runs a driving school. According to the police, a man named Isbu had applied to the driving school to renew his driver’s licence.

Adam forged the fitness certificate as it was a mandatory process.

The incident came to light after an RTO Inspector noticed a difference in the doctor’s signature from the one on the agency’s fitness certificate and called him to have the fitness certificate re-examined.

The doctor reported the forgery to the Vittal Police Station after learning of it.

Adam was brought before the court, and he was remanded in custody.
