Mangaluru: Gangster Shubhakar Shetty alias Yekkur Baba died at a private hospital in the city on Friday, August 14. He was 61 years old.
His mother had passed away recently after which he reportedly fell ill.
As per sources, the gangster-turned-Hindutva leader tested positive for the novel coronavirus recently.
He was an accused in the murder of one Prithvipal Rai, however, he was acquitted in this case in 2006 due to lack of evidence.
His last rites will be held on Saturday, August 15 and the body will be kept for the people to pay their last respects at Yekkur Ayyappa Bhajana Mandir premises at 10 AM.
