Mangalore: SIMI terrorists Asadulla and Muhammad Gaus Uruf Razauddin Nasir, who were arrested earlier, submitted before Magistrate Gopalkrishna Kolli of the District Sessions court that they had targeted Mangalore Infosys. This was revealed by the Investigating officer DYSP S S Khotha of the CID. Their examination has been going on for the last seven days.

The Terrorists’, who stayed in Topaz lodge, had planned to steal a bike from the parking bays at the Karavali Utsav that was going on at the Palike Maidan. However it was too crowded and the security staff was vigilant so they abandoned the idea. They then obtained a motor bike from another person and attempted to enter the Premises through the south gate but the security personnel were vigilant and stopped them from entering without valid entry credentials.
They then departed Mangalore, filling petrol at a petrol bunk 20 kms away from Mangalore and proceeding to the Agumbe Dargah at which they stayed and then moved to Hubli where they stayed at a rented house.
Thereafter they also carried out reconnaissance of Goa’s popular beaches like Calangute, Baga, Miramaar beaches, with a view to exploding bombs there and killing tourists. The duo stayed in a lodge, but escaped without paying the bills.
The DYSP said that witnesses to their activities have identified the duo from their photographs.
The Interrogation will continue on Tuesday also. D A Bhandekar is the public prosecutor in the case.
