Mangalore:Mangalores well known publishing house Shanthi Prakashana has made its 25th anniversary memorable by organizing a Shantigaagi Sahitya(Literature for Peace) campaign. The campaign features a book fair, publishers’ meet, cultural shows, Vision Expo, seminars for women etc.
The Book Fair was inaugurated by DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai while MLA JR Lobo declared open the Vision Expo.
Three books namely ‘Tahfeemul Quran’ by P Noor Mohammad, ‘Maatu Hege Irabeku,’a Kannada translation of ‘Zuban Ki Hifazat’, and ‘Bharatiya Sanskritiya Antardharegalu’ translated by P Noor Mohammed from Malayalam were released by State Ministers Ramanatha Rai, UT Khader and Abhayachandra Jain respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramanatha Rai hailed the role played by Shanthi Prakashana in spreading the message of peace and harmony through its publications.
A host of dignitaries including Moidin Bava, MLA, Abdul Javed, President of Shanthi Prakashana,Dr CB Habeeb Rahman, Chairman of Unity Health Complex, District Congress Interim President Kodijal Ibrahim and several others were present on the occasion.
