Mangaluru: On Kalladka row, District Congress Women’s Wing President Shalet Pinto defending District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai said that he was a secular leader who treated everyone equal. As district in-charge minister he had only directed superintendent of police to take action against those responsible for communal disharmony, she added.
She also said that BJP was politicising the issue to gain political mileage.
Slamming Shobha Karandlaje for allegations against Rai on Kalladka row, she said that the MP should win the elections against Ramanath Rai and then she should comment against Rai. She also ridiculed that people in Shoba’s constituency were in search of her as she had failed to address their problems.
“BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that they would set fire to Dakshina Kannada, if the culprit in Karthikraj murder case was not nabbed. During elections, to gain political mileage they resort to violence”, she said.
Mayor Kavitha Sanil, ZP member Mamatha Gatti, Corporator Appi and others were present.
