Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district police lost the services of a probationary sub-inspector of police to Covid on Tuesday, May 18.

The 24-year-old probationary sub-inspector, identified as Shamili was a resident of Kolar. She lost her life to Covid at 4.30 a.m. today. She had been admitted into R L Jalappa Hospital at Kolar for Covid treatment. As she was seven months pregnant, she was not vaccinated.

Shamili had joined the DK police on January 11 this year. She had gone to Kolar on leave. She was admitted to the said hospital on May 2 for Covid treatment.
