Mangaluru: “Providing service for the differently abled children to make them self reliant is an unique service towards the society”, said Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde on February 17, after inaugurating Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Chetana, a Child Development Centr unit of Seva Bharathi, Mangaluru here at Town Hall.
Addressing the gathering there, Ananth Kumar also said, “In various other social services, we get result for our service but here we don’t. Serving the differently abled children must be a continuous service towards the society.”
He also assured that the union government was always ready to help differently abled children to make them self reliant. “We people should be the light for differently abled children and take them forward. And also we should be thankful to those, who serve these children without any expectation”, Ananth Kumar Hegde added.
Swami Jithakananadaji, President of Ramakrishna Matt blessed the occasion.
MP Nalin Kumar presided over the programme.
During this occasion, Giridhar Kamath of Ganesh and Sudhir, Chartered Accountant (handling accounts for past 25 years without taking a fee), P Vasudev Rao (a donor for Chetana and also encouraging others to donate to Chetana School), Nagar Narayanan Shenoy (donor of the land) and Konchady Gopal Shenoy (ex military) were felicitated.
