Mangaluru: In major breakthrough, the City Crime Branch sleuths have arrested aides of underworld element Kali Yogisha for allegedly involving in serial shootout cases for extortion in the city.

The arrested Manoj Kundar(35), resident of Chitrapu near Mulki and Chandra Shekar(32) alias Tikki Annu, resident of Athooru Kapikad, Pakshikere.

The Police have confiscated two pistols, 7 live bullets and two mobile phones from the accused.

It may recalled that the two bike borne miscreants had fired at proprietor of Rajeshwari Jewelers in Mulki on December 7. In second case, the accuse have fired on an employee of Sanjeeva Shetty garments in the city, on December 8. In third case, the accused had fired at the residence of contractor Nagaraj in Mulky on December 23 at around 9.00pm.

The police have also confirmed that the accuse Manoj had direct contact with underworld element Kali Yogisha. As per his diktat, Manoj executed the offence for extortion.
