Mangalore:Experts in the field of mining and quarrying will be taking part in a two-day National Seminar on “Explosives and Blasting Techniques for Mining, Quarrying and Infrastructure Industry” to be held  at the Seminar Hall of NITK-Suratkal on September 26 and 27. The seminar has been organised by the Department of  Mining Engineering.

Prof. VR Sastry, the Conference Chairman, said the Seminar will see interesting discussions on  new ideas in development of explosives and blasting techniques in quarries and mines.

Gopal Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Central Coalfields Limited, AK Debnath, Chairman and Managing Director of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited, NK Nanda, Technical Director of NMDC Limited and Ramesh Kumar, Operations Director of The Singareni Collieries Co Ltd  will be the chief guests. The inaugural function will be presided over by Prof. Swapan Bhattacharya, Director of NITK-Suratkal.

Prominent among those who will participate in the valedictory function include YS Reddy, Senior Vice President of Fomento Resources Pvt Ltd.
