Moodbidri : Villager sof Padumarnadu who arrived for the Gram Sabha on Friday June 27, walked out of the meeting in protest against the congested venue and the lack of seating arrangements. They  complained that every time they had to stand outside the meeting venue and participate in the Gram Sabha and demanded that the  Panchayat first find a solution to the seating  problem before redressing other woes of the village.

The Gram Panchayat President Sanjeevini and other members and officials had to face embarrassing moments when confusion prevailed in the Gram Sabha right from the beginning. Villagers questioned whether they have to attend the meeting  standing all the while when officials and other leaders  were royally seated. They also demanded that the meeting be held in an open ground.

However, it were not the villagers alone who faced seating problem. Even officials did not have enough seats. In one instance, an official who had no seat, had to occupy the seat of  another official who stood up to answer a question.

The meeting deliberated upon various other civic issues.
