Mysuru: A search committee appointed by the state Governor has recommended 3 names for the Mysuru University Vice Chancellor’s (VC) post.

Mysore University chancellor’s post is vacant after former VC Prof. K S Rangappa retired last January. In this background, the Governor had formed a search committee and had asked it to recommend persons of eminence to fill the vacant post. The search committee after a meeting in the state capital, has recommended Prof. N S Ashok Kumar, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism at Bangalore University, Prof. R K Somasekhar, Head of Ecology and Sharat Ananthamurthy, Professor in the department of Physics for the august post.

Search committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. H P Khincha has Karnataka Central University Vice Chancellor Prof. M H Maheshwaraiah, Kalaburgi University Vice Chancellor Prof. V B Cutinho and University Grants Commission (UGC) Representative Virendra Chowhan as members.
