Sea erosion intensifies at Trasi

Kundapur : With sea erosion in the tourist spot of Trasi in Kundapur intensifying, a pavement made of interlock bricks has been partially engulfed by the sea.

Giant waves are lashing at the shores and the 250 meter long pavement is in utter danger with fears  looming large that the entire pavement may be washed away  very soon. Already a portion of the embankment has collapsed and the mighty waves have uprooted a coconut tree.

It is feared that another two days of heavy rain may lead to the destruction of the entire pavement that was constructed to facilitate tourists enjoy the scenic beauty of this place.

Local MLA K Gopal Poojari has already visited the place and directed the Deputy Commissioner to initiate remedial measures. Even Nirmithi Kendra officer Dinesh accompanied by Ports and Fisheries Department Executive Engineer Rathod visited the spot and discussed the measures that need to be taken.

K Taranath, Coastal Security Police Inspector, S Sampath Kumar, Gangolli Inspector and their staff as well as Mohammad Ibrahim of 24X7 Helpline of Gangolli are at the spot  to ensure that tourists visiting the spot are safe.
