Mangalore : The Social Democratic Party of India will be organizing a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioners office in Mangalore on June 28 at 10 am to condemn the attack on SDPI activists.
Informing this to reporters here on June 26, Wednesday, Aboobakker Kulai, District unit President of SDPI said there have been several incidents of attack on SDPI activists by Congress party workers. He also alleged that the police have been partial by not accepting the complaints of the SDPI in this regard.
Continuing, Aboobakker alleged that there has been a rise in criminal acts by Congress workers in the district ever since the Congress government took charge in the state. He also accused the party of failing to fulfill the promises made to the people.
Aboobakkar Kulai also said that SDPI will hold a seminar at NGO Hall on June 28 at 4 pm with an objective of sensitizing the society regarding certain laws which, he said are inhuman. P K Ponnappa, High Court lawyer, K Purushotham Poojary, senior advocate, Mangalore, Aboobakkar, advocate, Madikeri will be resource persons at the workshop.
SDPI State Secretary Akram Hassan, SDPI President of Mangalore Legislative Constituency unit Nasir Sajipa and district Secretary Ashraf Manchi, were present at the press meet.
