Mangaluru: After first train ferrying 1,140 migrant labourers left to Jharkhand on Saturday, two more trains left to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh ferrying same number of migrant labourers to both states on Sunday, May 10 from Mangaluru.
Prior to this, a total of 23 buses ferried migrant labourers to Mangaluru Junction railway station from different parts of the city. If migrant labourers of Uttar Pradesh were asked to wait for the bus at Bunder, Kandatpalli, Kudroli, Kankanady and Ullal, the labourers of Bihar were asked to wait at Panambur and Jokatte.
The first train which was ferrying migrant labourers to Uttar Pradesh went from Junction railway station at noon and another train which was ferrying migrant labourers of Bihar chugged off in the evening.
A district level officer, two village accountants and two police were deployed to ensure all labourers are following the guidelines of district administration during their journey.
Prior to their journey, health officials examined them thoroughly and took their details also.
