Kasargod: A school teacher was taken into custody on Sunday June 22, by the Kasargod town police for allegedly sexually harassing six high school girls.

The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Balamurali, a resident of Neerchal in Badiadka.

Balamurali had sexually assaulted six girls in the high school between the span of tow year, which is from 2012 to 2014.

According to the victims, he used to take his prey to the computer lab and sexually harass them after which he would warn and threaten the girls that they would have to face consequences if they divulged the act to anyone.

However, in March this year, one of the victims aggrieved by the situation,  complained to her parents, who in turn informed  Childline. During counseling, the Childline officials learnt that five other girls had been assaulted by him.

A complaint was then registered in Kasargod town police station, however when Balamural came to know about the same, he fled. The school management also supported him.

Balamurali went absconding for three months after the complaint was lodged. He was then traced by the police and arrested on Sunday. Kasargod town police are investigating further.
