Moodbidri: Finally, Kadalakere scheduled caste colony which was lacking proper road facility for nearly 50 years, has been sanctioned a new road.

In the colony there are 8 houses. But the people in this colony used to suffer as there was no proper road facility. Even the children going to school had to use a small footpath. If someone falls sick, or to use emergency services they had to walk half way to reach the main road.

In 2005, the then Municipality president, Bhoja Kotyan had tried to provide a road facility to the colony. Private land acquisition process was almost done with the help of municipality. But the RTC of survey no 275/2 property was in the name of the state government rather than the Municipality’s name. Hence the work got delayed.

However Sheena Nayak present main officer took special interest and had it mutated in favor of the municipality.

On Wednesday construction of road was initiated and was completed on the same day.

With this, the demand for a proper road, pending execution for the last 50 years, was fulfilled.

Street lights on this road and tap water for every house will be provided soon, said Ward member Haneef Alangar.
