Mangaluru: Aryabhata and Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee and president of Bunts Dubai Sarvotham Shetty Abu Dhabi has been chosen for the prestigious Mulky Sundararama Shetty Award for this year.

Mulky Sundararama Shetty, who is associated with Vijaya Bank since 1946, joined the board of directors of the bank as the Chairman in 1969.

Sarvotham Shetty is a renowned social worker and an outstanding philanthropist. He has already been awarded Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, Aryabhata Award, and other several awards. He is the brains behind the formation of many associations like Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Bunts Association and Tulu Koota in the UAE. Having moved to Abu Dhabi 30 years ago, he is looking after the smooth running of these associations since 29 years.

Mangaluru unit of Vijaya Bank Workers organisation and Officers Union have selected Sarvotham Shetty for the prestigious award which will be conferred on him on September 11.

The road leading to Catholic Club from Ambedkar Circle will be named after Mulky Sundararama Shetty on the same occasion.
