
Mangaluru: The 16th edition of ‘Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava’, jointly organised by the taluk committee of Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha and different units of the Bunts Association, will be held in Omkar Nagar in Bunts Hostel, between September 1 and 4.
Siddhivinayaka Pratishtana managing trustee Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai told reporters here on Wednesday, August 28, that the Ganesha idol will be brought in a grand procession from the Radhakrishna temple to Omkar Nagar on September 1 at around 5 pm. The installation of the idol will be held with various religious programmes on September 2 at around 8.45 am. A religious meeting will be held in the evening, wherein dignitaries such as Shashidhar Shetty, Anwar Manippady, Mohan Naik, N Dinesh Shetty, Dr. Raveesh Parava Padumale and Nivya P Shetty will be felicitated.
The immersion of the Ganesha idol will be held on the final day of the celebration on September 4. On that day, the grand procession will go via the Bunts Hostel Circle, PVS, Dongarakeri, New Chitra Talkies and Car Street. The idol will be immersed at the Mahammayi lake of the Venkatramana temple. There will be both religious and cultural programmes during all the four days, Rai informed.
Trustees Manjunath Bhandary Shedye, Krishnaprasad Rai Bellippady, Dr Ashajyothi Rai and others were present.
