Sandalwood slow in accepting new artists, Ester Noronha

Mangalore: Multi-lingual actress Ester Noronha who had come to the city on Thursday to promote her upcoming Kannada film ‘Usirigintha’ (Beyond Breath) said “Sandalwood (Kannada film industry) is slow in accepting new faces”.

 

Mangalore-based Ester Noronha who acted in a Telugu film ‘Bheemavaram Bullodu’ and Hindi film ‘Quayamat Hi Quyamat’, made the remark in response to a question on how Sandalwood is treating new actors.

Surya Kiran, lead actor in the film ‘Usirigintha’ added it’s about talent and the need to prove it. He said nearly 160 Kannada movies are released annually. Among them, at least 130 films have new faces. But, not all the movies run for long.  In addition, most of those who make debut hardly get a second chance to work for another film, and they instantly disappear from the screen.

On the film, Ravikumar H.P, producer said the movie is made with the budget of Rs 2.50 crore, consisting of five songs, mostly shot in Karnataka.

The movie will hit the screens in at least hundred theatres on October 2.

The movie features Mangalore-based actress Ester Noronha in the lead role against Surya Kiran. B. Suresh Babu, another Mangalorean is a cinematographer of the movie, while Avinash is the music director.

The movie is produced under the banner E.K.entertainers and Sanjivini Creations. It’s a debut Kannada film for both the lead artists.

The movie is themed on a musical romantic love triangle.
