Mangaluru: The athletics team of the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM) added another feather in its cap by winning the overall championship for the fifth time at an athletics meet held in Kolar recently. The inter collegiate athletic competition conducted by Vishweshwaraiah Technological University held at Dr. T Thimmaiah Institute of Technology in Kolar saw a great performance by SCEM athletes.

These athletes competed against 1520 others from 127 technological colleges all over the state. Team Sahyadri scored a total of 91 points in the whole tournament with the girls securing 59 points and the boys won 32 points. Among the athletes from SCEM, Manisha A won the Best Athlete title and a new meet record in discus throw was achieved by Vikhyath V S.

Adding to the individual achievements, SCEM girl’s relay team created a record by breaking the earlier record of MSRT Bengaluru. SCEM Chairman Manjunath Bhandary and Principal Umesh M Bhushi lauded the students for their tremendous performance in the athletics meet.
