Mangalore: Students of Saanidhya residential school for special children on Wednesday hosted special programs as part of Onam celebrations.






The children made pookalam, a traditional flower arrangement done during Onam on the theme – Save Nethravathi. Besides, there were traditional dance programs too.
If some of the students were the usual uniform, other did steal the look, who sported with saree and traditional white lungi.
Vasanthkumar Shetty, a trustee of the Trust running the school said that among the 140 students, 7 students hail from Kerala. Since they are leaving for their hometown for Onam on September 7, we have celebrated the festival today, he said.
Well known doctor B.M hedge and Mayor Mahabala Marla, also a trustee of the school joined the children in the celebrations. The children were later served lunch with payasam and other delicacies prepared for Onam.
