Mangaluru: Naresh Shenoy has been framed as the main accused in the 770-page chargesheet filed by the probing team in connection with murder of RTI activist, Vinayak P Baliga. Srikanth, Shiva, Vineeth Poojary, Nishit Devadiga, Shylesh, and Manujnath Shenoy has been named as other accused in the chargesheet filed on June 23 at the third additional court.

Naresh Shenoy is at large since he was named as accused in the murder case. He is accused of murder and murder conspiracy. Assistant commissioner of police, Tllak Chandra, chief investigating officer in the case has mentioned in the chargesheet that Shenoy’s anticipatory bail was rejected by the High Court and his bank accounts and assets including vehicles have been seized. The chargesheet has been filed as it is compulsory to file 90 days before the crime took place.

It may be recalled that Vinayak Baliga was hacked to death near his house in Kodialbail on March 21. Police have arrested Vineet Poojary, Nishit Devadiga, Shiva, alias Shivaprasad, and Shailesh (40) including Manjunath Shenoy alias Manju Neereshwalya who is out on bail in connection with this case.
