Mangaluru: The police have successfully nabbed two persons involved in the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Pandurang Baliga, who was hacked to death during wee hours of March 21.
Baliga was out of his house, as usual at around 5.45 am to go to Venkatramana Temple in the city on his two-hweeler, when miscreants approached him and stabbed him to death.
The arrested have been identified as Vineeth Poojary (26) from Kavoor and Nishith Devadiga (23) from Shankthinagar.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar said that there are several others involved in the case and a manhunt for those is on.
He informed that several people had plotted to kill Baliga and it is said that on the previous day of his death too the gang had made a failed attempt to kill him.
