RTI activist murder case: Okkuta to take out padayatra from Baliga’s residence to Commissionerate on May 2

Mangaluru: Pressing for speeding up probe into RTI activist Vinayak Baliga’s murder and to nab prime accused NaMo Brigade Founder Naresh Shenoy, Deshapremi Sanghatane Okkuta, which comprises of students, youth, Dalits, women and civil societies, will hold a ‘padayatra’ from Baliga’s residence near Kalakunj to Mangaluru Police Commissioner’s office, on May 2 at 4 pm.

Suspecting that there is a strong lobby, which is saving Shenoy, the Okkuta has opined that nabbing Shenoy is not a difficult task for the police, but unfortunately, some influential persons have armed twisted the police department.

The Okkuta has warned of intensifying the protest if Shenoy and all those involved in Baliga murder case are not nabbed.

RTI activist Vinayak Baliga, 51, was hacked to death near his house while he was on his way to the Venkatramana Temple on March 21.
