Mangaluru: Members of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) Mangaluru Mahanagar unit visited the Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte on Saturday, September 3 and invited the Carmelite priests and the Catholics of the city for the upcoming Ganesha Chaturthi celebration to be held at Sanghnikethan on Monday, September 5.
Mangaluru Mahanagar Sanghachalak Dr Sathish Rao, who spoke on the occasion, said that RSS had always worked for peace and harmony in the society. “We have come here to invite our catholic brothers and sisters to Ganesha Chaturthi celebration at Sangha Nikethan on September 5. We wish you all a happy feast of Nativity which is on September 8. We thank the priests for organizing this event in the shrine premises”.
Former director of the shrine, Fr Dominic said that country’s development could be possible only through the harmonious co-existence of different religions. “We thank RSS for the invitation and wish our Hindu brothers and sisters a very happy Ganesha Chaturthi,” he said.
Dr Sathish Rao handed over fruits and the invitation to the director of the shrine Fr Elias D’Souza. Deputy Director of the shrine, Fr Prakash, chief secretary of Ganeshothsava Samiti Sanghanikethan Satheesh Prabhu and others were present on the occasion.
