Mangaluru: The state government has released Rs 41 crore for the construction of a district administration complex giving a boost to the proposal of shifting DC office to Padil.

The three storey district complex at Padil would come up on five acres of land. A Congress bhavan is going to come up in a 9 cents land belonging to forest department. Ramanath Rai who holds the forest ministry and heads DK district promised the congress leaders and party workers to get the work done  in a year.

The bhavan will come up in Mallikatte between Kadri Market and Lions Club building.

Janardhana Poojary, during the press meet, suggested to contruct Bhavan in a larger place preferably in Padil and suggested to invite Sonia Gandhi to lay the foundation stone. However, the present district congress leadership has not interest in listening to his ideas, it is learnt.

The Congress, which presently functions from a rented building in Hampanakatte was contemplating having its own building for some time now.
