Mangaluru: Bajpe police and officials of the mines and geology department on Tuesday seized 853 truckloads of illegally stocked sand from three different spots under their station limits.
Acting on a tip-off, the team raided sites in Badagulipady village, Narlapadavu, Mogaru village and another spot near Moodu Ferar church and confiscated 313, 233 and 307 truckloads of sand respectively valuing up to Rs 35 lac.
A team of police officials led by assistant commissioner of police, Gopalakrishna Nayak under the guidance of police commissioner, Vipul Kumar along with Rajashekhar, inspector of the cyber cell police station, geologist, B K Murthy, village accountants, Muttappa and Dinesh conducted the raid.
