Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City chapter of the Rotary Club, under the aegis of Rotary International District 3181, will be organising a two-day seminar- ‘Hosa Chiguru 2019’ on district membership development, Pulse Polio and RTI Act at the Cordel Church Hall on August 10 and 11.
Rotary Club Mangaluru City president Rtn Dr Ranjan R K told reporters here on Tuesday, August 6, that around 1000 Rotarians from four revenue districts – Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar – will participate in the seminar. The focus will be on improving the membership in various clubs and chartering new clubs, awareness about Pulse Polio immunisation and the RTI Act of the Government of India.
The seminar on Pulse Polio immunisation and RTI Act will be held on August 10 at 5 PM, and will be inaugurated by Mysuru-based district governor Rtn Joseph Mathew. The seminar on membership development will be held on August 11 at 9 AM and will be inaugurated by Kolkotta-based Rotary International director 2019-2021 Rtn Kamal Sanghvi.
Addressing the media, Assistant governor (Zone 3 – RI Dist 3181) Rtn Sumith Rao said that the Rotary is an international voluntary service organisation with a century-old background of business and professional persons united worldwide. The members provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
During the course of the two-day seminar, experts will emphasize on various topics such as how to attract the youth to the organisation, how to start a new club, child and maternal health, corporate social responsibility etc., he added.
