Bantwal: A road near Annalike junction between Bantwal-Moodabidri road has turned into pond after it was dug for installing pipeline to supply gas by HPCL authorities. The locals have lashed out at HPCL for the potholes in the road.

The road was dug by the HPCL authorities to install pipeline to supply gas through Mangaluru-Bengaluru road a year ago. Taluk panchayath member Vasanth Kumar along with locals had protested against it. Following the protest, HPCL officials rushed to the spot and promised to widen and repair the road. Hence the protest was called off.
“Once the pipeline work was completed, the road was repaired with low quality of materials. As a result of the unscientific work, the road cannot be used for commuting, “alleged the locals.
The road filled with potholes has put commuters into trouble. Several of the motorists have ended up in hospital. The locals have urged the concerning officials to take action at the earliest.
