Road mishap kills woman, leaves five of her family members critically injured

Bantwal: A woman was killed and five of her family members, including her three children were injured after driver of their car lost control of the vehicle at Nelyady near Uppinangady on Monday, July 18.

Mumtaz (30) daughter of Hasanabba from Nandavara in Bantwal taluk is the deceased. In the mishap her father Hasanabba, husband Zahir, children Rizwan, Munaf, Ashiq Ahmed and Munaiza suffered injuries and have been rushed to Puttur hospital.

It is said that the car turned turtle as the driver could not control it while negotiating a curve.

The family had been to Bengaluru on Saturday and were returning to Nandavara. Zahir, Mumtaz’s husband hailed from Bengaluru, but had settled in Nandavara after marriage. The family had visited Zahir’s home and was on its way back.
