Mangalore: A person standing at the bus stand died on the spot after a bus ran over him on Thursday August 28, at Bendoorwell bus stop.

In the accident the person died and other two were injured, however the identity of the deceased as well as the injured is yet to be ascertained.

According to the sources, the 51 – number bus coming from Konaje tried to overtake another bus approaching the bus stop. In the process, the bus driver ran over the bus stand itself creating a mishap and killing the man.

Crowds gathered at the spot however the police arrived along with Kadri police inspector T D Nagaraj and dispersed the crowd.

A case has been registered at Kadri police station.
