Mangaluru: The cops who detained Padma, wife of gangster Ravi Poojary and his 14 year old son at Mumbai international airport when they arrived from Singapore on Monday have now let free the two after it came to light that it was a case of mistaken identity.

Sources in the CCB, during the arrest stated that Padma and her son would  be brought to Mangaluru, however later by night they claimed it to be a case of mistaken identity.

Though Padma was once arrested in 2005 and later granted conditional bail, she had fled the nation using a fake passport within a month. The Mumbai Police had later issued a “Look Out Notice” in the name of Padma. Later in 2012 they had issued a look out notice for Sridevi as Padma had used a fake passport in this name.

The woman who was detained at Mumbai airport recently was Sridevi Santosh Poojary and her son Aryan. Later in order to ascertain their identity the two were presented before an SI of Mumbai station who had arrested Ravi Poojary’s wife in 2005. After the SI confirmed that the woman was not the wife of Ravi Poojary, the two were released.
