Rashmiparvathi of puttur wins yet another laurel

Mangalore : Rashmiparvathi, a highly talented girl from Puttur, who had  invented a remedy  for skin ailments through her invention of a salt extract  from  coconut palm petiole, has   now made her home town and district proud by winning a gold  for her science project in the International Sustainable World Energy Engineering Environment Project Olympiad, (I-SWEEP) 2013 held in Houston, Texas, USA from May 8 to 12.

Rashmiparvathi who hails from Nekkila  in Bannur of Puttur taluk who has secured 93 per cent marks in her II PUC exams wants to study basic science at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

She had taken part in I-SWEEP as part of an Indian delegation comprising Ayush Panara from Rajkot, Nambirajan Konar, Kushal Suvarna, Dhanyeshwari and Manoj Kumar from Mumbai. SWEEP is an international science fair that focuses on energy, engineering, and environmental projects. The Indian team including Rashmiparvathi had earlier been achievers in the Indian Science and Engineering Fair (INSEF) organized by Science Society of India (SSI).At I-SWEEP, the Indian team won two silvers and one bronze medal.
