Mangaluru: The venomous Foresten s Cat Snake found only in Western Ghats and forest areas was spotted at the residence of Damodar in Dharmasthala of Belthangady Taluk in the District.

The snake was 7 feet long and caught on Friday May 27 by Snake Ashok Laila of Belthangady and released into the forest.

Foresten s Cat snake is venomous snake whose population has dwindled over the years. Six years ago Snake Ashok had caught Foresten s Cat snake at Kindaje in Laila Village for the first time. This is the second time he has got lucky.
