Mangaluru/Udupi: The dwellers of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada woke up to unlikely mild weather on Wednesday morning as moderate rain lashed twin district. It rained heavily in the wee hours of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Many places, viz. Ullal, Tokottu, Kotekar and Talappady received an hour of rain in the morning hours. Suratkal, Krishnapura, Kinnigoli and Bajpe witnessed thunder and lighting. In Mulky (Udupi) massive rain was accompanied by lighting, it was reported.

The power lines were damaged at Mulky following the rain. At Savanur and Palthady in Dakshina Kannada heavy downpour lifted the mood of the locals.

However, the surroundings of Belthangady and Vittal experienced scanty rainfall on Monday.  Other places, Punjalkatte, Siddakatte, Raayi, Manipal Karkala also received scanty rainfall for two days.
