Mangalore : The Union Railway Budget has been very much disappointing, said G.V. Srirama Reddy, State CPI(M) Secretary.

Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on Thursday July 10, Reddy said the Union Government by increasing rail fares prior to the budget, has neglected the interests of the poor.

He described the railway budget as pro-rich and alleged that government has given enough scope for  private investors in the department. He said of the 677 railway projects announced in the past 30 years, as many as 359 remained merely on paper.

He alleged that  the present Union Budget will be of no help to the common man.

CPI(M) leaders Vasanth Achari and Yadava Shetty were also present.
